Bad Bad Hats:

Album Packaging

I created album packaging art, including a cover, inner sleeves, record labels, and a back. The band I chose is an indie rock group called Bad Bad Hats. The band’s album Walkman has an energetic sound with humorous and relatable lyrics. I chose a colorful, chaotic style to reflect the album’s themes. Above is the front of the vinyl, along with the inner sleeve and the record.

The front and back of the vinyl packaging. The crocodile, crab, and bear characters represent the band members. The characters are shown in a larger scene with objects that reference the songs in the album. On the back, the characters are saying the songs on the album.

To the right is the back of the inner sleeve. It has a type that I hand-wrote. I wanted to do fun bubble letters that fit with the cover and theme of the album. Additionally, the text is lyrics from the song Walkman. The bright colors also match the upbeat tune of the song.

To the left is the front of the inner sleeve. It displays headphones with the wire making a heart that connects to the album’s name, Walkman. There are also stars in the background because one of the songs is titled Milky Way.

The front and back of the records. The labels show the band members/characters rotated around. When the record plays, it should look like the characters are moving.
